Flattery will get you nowhere

Got a comment in my guestbook today. It contained this little flattery:

“What a nice site, been surfing on it for the whole night and day and i
neva got bored for a single minute. Keep up your good work and all of the
best in everything you do! :-)

In reality, there were two accesses from that spammer. Hour and a half distance between them. And only one comment posted, for some reason.

What’s weirder, is that the IP numbers belong to AOL. But IP addresses I’ve never seen before. One used for referrer spam a few days ago. Starting to smell proxy here…?

Too funny! And people think spammers are smart.

BTW, are you aware that your layout is broken because of the image in the post entitled “Unintended consequences of blacklists” in IE? It’s okay in Firefox except the image is distorted and you can’t read the writing. It needs to be smaller - not so wide.

I’d like to read this site via RSS, but your feed is bust: NetNewsWire gives the error message “The download failed for this feed. The system reported an error: Domain: unknown Type: error code: 7″

Which seems odd for a stock Wordpress install - is it?

Also, how long do you think you can stay this angry about spam? I found it wore off after eight years or so.

Thanks for the heads up. I use Firefox, so I didn’t notice the brokenness.

And it’s a stock Wordpress install. Haven’t used NetNewsWire, so don’t know why it doesn’t work.
