Definition of spam
Exactly what is spam?
For us bloggers, it’s a no-brainer that spam includes referrer, comment and trackback spam.
For Google, it’s a no-brainer that the term includes search engine spam.
But for some scuzzy ISP’s, and for filthy affiliate programs, the definition extends ONLY to e-mail spam.
Why?
Follow the money. The more they can avoid admitting that their affiliates are spammers, the more they can avoid cutting them off, and the more money they’ll make.
We need a lot more attention to these problems, outside the SEO and blogger communities.
For an example, check out the comments below the post about the spammer hocking Maxolution sites.
