Atrivo cleaning up their act?

There’s some activity on Usenet lately, surrounding Atrivo. Someone named Russel is posting there, talking about updating their AUP, and playing nice to the Nanae crowd.

Looks like they at least want to appear spam unfriendly.

Here’s one example of playing nice.

We’ve got so many examples of bots from Atrivo. Maybe we should complain to them next time we see a bot we can clearly demonstrate is associated with a spam run?

Ah, this is interesting. He’s talking about yanking machines from clients, including Esthost!

Sounds like it’s about time to hit Atrivo with abuse messages - remember, only FRESH sighthings!

I find it hard to believe. See our atrivo.com page. Last we saw him was the 25th.

I sent him a report on that bestsearch case. I guess we’ll see?

Joe, that spamrun on the 25th was zolotko/Angelsfucked. Those sites are hosted on ESThost, which is a downstream provider of Atrivo.

The Atrivo.com domain is registered to Kasperski who also has an antivirus product. The spyware I found on my machine clearly phones home and made other unhappy changes to my machine. I have documented the changes and plan to file suit in Cook County Illinois alleging stolen bandwidth.
