Spam unfriendly freehosts
If you are a free webhost, free dynamic IP service or other service that’s targetted by spammers, and you want to tell the world that you don’t want spammers, please add the link to your main page here:
http://spamhuntress.com/wiki/Spam_unfriendly
By doing that, you tell spam hunters that you welcome reports of spam (including linkspam), and that it’s worth the spam hunter’s effort, and not worth the spammer’s effort.
And please write an AUP that states unequivocally that linkspam is grounds for termination, along with e-mail spam any other misuse you can think of (hacking, DDOS you name it). Don’t forget to include any paid services in the AUP.
AUP means Acceptable Use Policy
There’s a case now of a free service provider who has a paying customer. Although any spammer caught on their free service is summarily terminated, they’ve got trouble with the paying customer, even though it’s a known spammer. Money has changed hands, and they don’t have an AUP. Hopefully they’ll make one soon, and get the spammer off. But in the meantime, the spammer is still on their service!!!
