Got a bite from a spammer
I wrote about a small time referrer spammer a while ago. This morning I found a comment from said spammer. Same spammer ethics I’ve seen so many times before.
Go give him a piece of your mind:

Swedish spammers are actually quite rare - and they’re all very defensive when explaining their actions. The Swedish blogosphere has had a run-in with people spamming about a toplist site for blogs called blogrankers. They’re all defensive, saying that no bots have been spamming - that they have all personally visited the sites they’ve commented in. Spam is spam, imho.
After a comment was posted at my blog that showed who owned the domain name, I got a cease and decist letter from the named person threatening a law suite base on me breaking the Personal Data Law (Personuppgiftslag) that regulates what is permitted to mention about individuals online.

Wow! I thought I knew what spam was, and I realized after reading your Wiki that I didn’t know what it was =) Spam has been so overused that it has come to also mean repeating the same thing over and over - when in truth they do it so they can get better search engine rankings. Ya learn something new every day =P
I’ve been working to market my blog - and in all honesty I’m not worried about search engine rankings. Most people who will read the type of content I have would probably be better off finding me through related sites. So, I read related blogs, comment, and leave my link - then I do honestly keep coming back. As a matter of fact, I’ve been reading your blog for a couple of weeks now, and I’ve just never found anything to add. You’ve been so pointedly concise that I was left speechless - a rarity for me as you can probably tell by now =P
At any rate, I hope you’ll visit me sometime - and good luck in your endeavor. It is certainly necessary in today’s world =)
