Comment spam fraud

I checked out Joe’s blog, and found a blog submitter among his examples of comment spam. And yes, this is the overtly evil kind that posts to any blog it finds.

Blog Link Generator

Turns out the site spamvertized on Joe’s blog is just one of the many places it’s promoted on the net. The promoter is a guy who’s billing himself as an expert on several fields. Writes articles, that kind of thing.

When searching for more on that thing, I found another guy who likes to write articles. He’s unabashed white, grey and black hat SEO, so no surprises there.

My third major find was an eBay auction. Search eBay for that search term, and you’ll find lots of fraudulent entries.

So, why is it fraud?

Because while there’s no question adding inbound links works, nowhere are the buyers told about the huge downsides:

Get caught comment spamming, and you’re likely to get blacklisted in Google. Which means you may get one or two weeks of good traffic, and then no more Google traffic - FOR MONTHS, if you EVER get back into the index. Pretty major, if you ask me!

Nofollow is employed across most blog software these days, which means the links won’t help one bit, except for direct clicks.

Let’s spread the word about this before more clueless noobs are taken in, and before more people buy this dangerous piece of software.

I wonder if this is the same software sold by the Unabashed blog submitter?
