Wow, you must be stoked. What are the chances of winning the lottery twice in one day?
2 million euro - cool. Well done.

Sounds similar to the rip off guys who want to transfer millions and need you to put it through your account to make it legal ... blah blah.

In february I got one f those from a guy "thanking god" to find such a "relegious man" like me and to offer me a deal. Usually I just delete those mails, but this time I wrote back to him that I hope he will burn in hell for ripping off people.

The reaction was funny, because he now sent his spam mails using my email address as sender addy and his as respond to address.
The result was immediate, because I received thousands of "undeliverable" notifications...

I was angry with myself to even bother to write an answer, but then decided to take up the fight. He used a yahoo address, so I set up a script to forward all "undeliverable" (in fact in 10 different langiuages) emails to his answerback address and to send an email with his emailaddress as sender and response to adress to the non existing sender ... plus a small picture of an hairy butt attached.

2 hours later his yahoo account seemed to be flooded with his own spam (plus hundreds of hairy butts).

A day later he switched to hotmail and we did the same exercise another time. Needless to say he was spammed with his own rubbish again. The next hotmail account he seemed to send to me unintentionally, because he stopped his activity to use my addy as sender addy now.

After stopping him from using my adress, I thought to go a step further and to try to find someone to take legal actions against him. So I reported his activities to Yahoo, MSN(Hotmail) and to my own provider. Of course I cc'd him on the email, what caused a funny and upsetting mail from his side in suddenly much less proper english. He proposed that I should have sexual intercourse with ma mother (politely said).
No need to say that yahoo and MSN never came back to me?
Well, my provider (Xtra in NZ) did at least, telling me his provider and how I can get it from the transmission header.

I wrote an email to Orange Senegal, to see if they will take any legal action. I wonder what will happen, and if I should try to upset more of those spammers. Once I took up the fight it was real fun. Maybe I should set up some cath spam email addresses ...

Hey - funny thing happened. I've never looked at your site before, but I was trying to figure out this weird spam problem I was having. About 30 minutes after looking at your site, at this very post, I received an email just like the one you gave an example of. I have never received an email like that before, until I looked at your site. Coincidence?

That's too bad, Ann. I get the same thing myself to my various email addresses ... I guess we'll just have to keep working for our millions ...

In my opinion I think lottery spam is one of the most successful out there. I hate it. However, all the spammer needs to do is match the sender's details well enough and it begins to look realistic.

It's a shame/advantage that there isn't a chart of most successful spam/hooking schemes.
